Meet Daz

Darren Sumner — better known as Daz, or ‘Fab Daz’ — is a Mancunian (now living in South Shields) music producer and audio engineer blending technical precision with creative expression. With a background in modern production and hands-on analogue work, he specialises in crafting immersive, emotionally driven sound.

His work focuses on mixing, mastering, and atmospheric composition — balancing clarity, depth, and feeling in every track. Drawing inspiration from Manchester’s culture, as well as soul, hip hop, and visual art, Daz creates music that’s as textured as it is personal.

Whether working on client projects or developing his own concepts like Stellar Sessions, his approach stays the same: make music that resonates — not just sonically, but emotionally.

The Man Behind Stellar Sessions

At the heart of Stellar Sessions is a simple idea: music should reflect who we are.

For Darren Sumner, the project is more than a concept — it’s a personal exploration of identity, emotion, and connection. Each track on Elemental Resonance is shaped not just by the traits of the zodiac, but by real experiences, observations, and moments of introspection.

Daz approaches music as both a craft and a form of storytelling. Influenced by the raw energy of Manchester, the expression of graffiti culture, and the soul of hip hop legends like MF Doom, his work carries a sense of authenticity that runs throughout Stellar Sessions. There’s intention behind every sound — nothing is accidental, but nothing feels forced.

What sets him apart is the balance he strikes between technical skill and emotional instinct. He understands how to shape sound to a professional standard, but more importantly, he knows how to make it feel something.

Stellar Sessions is a reflection of that mindset — a project built on the belief that music can mirror personality, spark recognition, and connect people in unexpected ways.

Beyond the Music

For Darren, the music is just one layer of the experience. His projects extend into visuals, concepts, and atmosphere where sound, identity, and design all come together.

There’s a strong visual influence behind his work, shaped by Manchester’s graffiti culture and the idea of self-expression in public spaces. That energy feeds into the project’s identity — raw, personal, and open to interpretation.

Looking ahead, Darren opens the door to more than just listening. From visual content and artwork to immersive digital experiences, the aim is to build a space where people don’t just hear the music — they step inside it.
